End of Scholarship Update

The Marten Bequest scholarship has been invaluable for me this past year. I was able to travel and spend a significant amount of time in Los Angeles, securing management and furthering my training and auditioning techniques. I have made and cemented some amazing contacts over there and have gained a wealth of knowledge and experience that would never have eventuated without the Marten Bequest.

I am currently working on the television series Home and Away which has been fantastic practice in applying the new skills I have developed.

I look forward to furthering my training, with the help of the scholarship, next year at the Atlantic School in New York.

My Marten Bequest scholarship program has thus far enriched my creative practice immensely. Engaging with other filmmakers and actors in both New York and Los Angeles was tremendously inspiring - it has been so wonderful to connect with an international community of artists.

The scholarship has enabled me to learn a great deal across the broad spectrum of both filmmaking and acting, and expanded my interests into new areas such as: animation, crowdfunding, online marketing, distribution, lighting, and screenwriting. I am so very grateful to the Marten Bequest for making this possible.

Now back in Australia, I've been cast in a new drama series for Channel 7, "A Place to Call Home". I'm really thrilled about the role and just loving every moment on set!

End of Scholarship Update

The Marten Bequest Scholarship has afforded me a year living and working in the United States. In addition to my scholarship activities, I have been employed on a number of film projects and worked with a diverse cross section of the American entertainment industry.  I am about to commence shooting the lead role in PASSENGER which is the first film to be produced by Forest Whitaker's production company Juntobox Films. I shot the THE LEDGE at Universal Studios with Tim Burton's Academy Award Winning Design team. You can watch THE LEDGE here at RIDES TV.  Currently, I am shooting on a currently UNTITLED feature film with some of the biggest names in American pop music

End of Scholarship Update

This year after my solo exhibition at Damien Minton Gallery in October I will be traveling into the Australian desert to Art Communities near Alice Springs and all the way up through the Northern Territory and across to Melville Island. I will undertake a residency at Titjikala art centre south-east of Alice Springs. This will be a two to three month trip.

When I return from my trip through Australia if funds prevail, I intend to travel to New York to look at the great American paintings particularly those of the NY School of the 1950s and 1960s and to also perhaps take part in a residency whilst there.

I would be going to New York in March 2013 for two to three months when it is not so cold.

End of Scholarship Update

The scholarship has allowed my career to progress in providing studio space, travel and materials to produce work.

My upcoming exhibition in Sydney and Melbourne: My Eyes Through Your Mountains will be the culmination of skills and experiences attained through the Marten Bequest.

This will take form in ceramics, sculpture, painting and installation.

The scholarship has also allowed my practice to be taken seriously by my peers. With the support of the Bequest, belief in my focus and vision has enabled the confidence to network with arts practitioners and gallerists with conversations of the travelling underwent and the manifestation of these experiences.
